|
Laker Girls with Jonathan Ho from the Children's Miracle Network |
On
Sunday, June 22nd, 2008 Rusnak Auto Group was the sponsor of The Pasadena POPS at the beautiful Descanso Gardens in La Cañada. The garden was filled with 1,500 Rusnak clients for a summer of what no other orchestra offers. Maestra Rachael Worby and The POPS took audience on a journey through music, poetry, dance and more.

Maestra Rachael Worby & Jonathan Ho from the Children's Miracle Network |
It’s important to Maestra Rachael Worby to tell a story with each performance, she wanted each performance to be a unique experience for every audience member. Cowboy poet and singer Michael Martin Murphey whom Lyle Lovett calls “one of America’s best songwriters” joined the orchestra to bring back the romance, mystery and incomparable beauty of the Wild, Wild West. Rusnak introduced Jonathan Ho from the Children's Miracle Network as the special guest of the evening who’s athletic dreams were granted.

Rusnak Mercedes-Benz Supports Pasadena Eco House Ground Breaking |
Construction sites are common throughout the City of Pasadena. When the function is attended by the Mayor, Pasadena city officials and Channel 7 KABC, it makes for a special event. The event was held on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00pm and was introduced by Deena
Willis, an associate broker with Assist 2 Sell in Pasadena and who is about to complete her Eco Broker certification. Deena spoke about working with the owners of the Eco House and the home search process they went through before deciding to build their ideal dream home.
Only time will tell if the Eco House will take its place alongside Pasadena’s historic past of craftsman, bungalows and Spanish style architecture. The significance of the home obtaining the Platinum LEED Certification is bound to be a model for future construction as we attempt to move away from wood framing to more environmentally friendly and sustainable materials.
Providing the backdrop to the speakers was a wall of SCIP (structural concrete insulated panels) which will be the cornerstone of the Eco House. These panels are shipped prefabricated to the site and can be constructed with less skilled labor, therefore allowing the building costs to remain competitive.

Mike Bradford, General Manager, Rusnak Audi Pasadena, with Richard Kim greeting the guests |
Bang & Olufson Pasadena held an exclusive invitation only Casino Night on June 19th. Guests indulged in an evening of Poker, single malt Scotch tastings, auction, hors d’oeuvres and state of the art entertainment systems. 10% of all proceeds benefited the Autism Spectrum Disorders Building Fund.
At the end of the evening, the event raised $10,000 to the non profit. Rusnak Audi was a proud sponsor of the event.
A Specialty School for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders.....
The Vision
High in Altadena, nestled in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, and overlooking the bustling metropolis below there sits a unique piece of property. There is something remarkable about this land -- at this altitude the air seems peaceful and calming. Serenity is a tangible thing. With your support, something even more magical and perfectly suited for this site can occur here: the construction and operation of a new specialty school for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. And though the facility will be cutting-edge in its construction and the instruction provided within -- specially designed to support children with autism with natural light, thoughtfully designed spaces and landscaping, and incorporating the latest advances in neuro-educational technology -- from the outside it will appear to blend seamlessly with the California mission style homes nearby.

A magician at the event entertains the guests |
The Partnership
In partnership with Education Spectrum, internationally recognized experts in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorders, the Institute for the Redesign of Learning is poised to deliver a new and exciting and desperately needed service. With over 34 years experience providing a full-range of educational services to individuals with special needs, the Institute is uniquely suited to develop an exemplary and model school program for these under-served students.

Distinguished Dad’s Brunch at
The Langham, Huntington Hotel & Spa |
Father’s Day this year was a tremendous success at The Langham, Huntington Hotel & Spa. Nearly 300 guests celebrated with us, enjoying Dom Perignon and a lavish brunch in the Lobby Lounge and adjoining terrace. Convertibles, sedans and coupes from Rusnak Auto Group’s luxury line of automobiles glistened on the lawn of the Horseshoe Garden, providing an elegant framework for an enchanting event. Dads enjoyed the live jazz band and The U.S. Open on flat screen plasma TVs under the tent in the garden, and also splurged on Cigars by Chivas, Hennessy XO cognac and experienced unique golf swing analysis by GolfTEC, Inc.
Pasadena Magazine and celebrity presence added some extra “buzz” to the event, and overall it was an exquisite day for dad!
Happy Father's Day!

2nd Annual Children’s Cup Brings Smiles to Children |
The 2nd Annual Children’s Cup Golf Tournament that benefited Childrens Hospital Los Angeles was held on Monday, June 23, 2008 at the picturesque Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, CA. The field of over 90 golfers braved the above seasonal temperatures to compete in an individual play style tournament. The winning team qualified for the prestigious Bentley Cup to be played later in 2008. Ron Taylor, General Manager of Bentley Pasadena, part of the Rusnak Auto Group, arranged for this special value-added attraction to the tournament’s overall special prize of helping the most seriously ill and injured children of Los Angeles.
“We are so proud of our partnership with Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and being able to bring our automotive partners together for helping to treat and eventually cure these young patients. This tournament was especially helped by Bentley and we are thrilled to be involved.”
The winning team was led by Vincent Woo of Oppenheimer Funds, and joining Vincent on his foursome was Elke Schlosser, Jeff Parker and Michael
Schaffer. “The real winners today were the children and families of CHLA, said Woo.”
After the tournament concluded, guests enjoyed a cocktail reception, silent auction and awards banquet. Founded in 1901, Childrens Hospital Los Angeles has been treating the most seriously ill and injured children in Los Angeles for more than a century, and it is acknowledged throughout the United States and around the world for its leadership in pediatric and adolescent health. Childrens Hospital is one of America’s premier teaching hospitals, affiliated with the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California since 1932. It is a national leader in pediatric research. Since 1990, U.S. News & World Report and its panel of board-certified pediatricians have named Childrens Hospital Los Angeles one of the top pediatric facilities in the nation.

The All-New BMW X6 Sports Activity Coupe: A Coupe Above |
BMW will once again introduce a ground-breaking idea to the world and the creation of a new segment with the debut of its all-new X6 Sports Activity Coupe at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show in January. The all-new vehicle redefines the very notion of a coupe - with five doors and four sculpted seats, a higher ride and loads of cargo space. It defies coupe conventions in one jaw dropping look, combining coupe agility and SAV versatility, taking the coupe to a higher level.
As the world's first Sports Activity Coupe, the BMW X6 will be available in two engine variants: the xDrive50i (4.4 V8 engine, 400 hp, 450lb.-ft torque) and the xDrive35i (3.0 inline six-cylinder engine, 300 hp, 300lb.-ft torque), both with Twin Turbo and direct injection. The BMW X6 offers unique features and performance ability in a combination unmatched by any other vehicle. The new BMW X6's design combines the sporting elegance of a large BMW Coupe with the powerful presence of a BMW X model.
The BMW X6 comes as standard with BMW's intelligent xDrive all-wheel-drive technology with electronic control for variable distribution of drive power between the front and rear axles, consistently adjusted to driving conditions at all times and in all situations.
Featured for the first time as standard in the BMW X6, Dynamic Performance Control likewise ensures variable distribution of drive forces between the two rear wheels. Dynamic Performance Control incorporates an advanced computer control and an innovative rear differential incorporating two planetary gearsets and two clutch packs that enables the system to multiply torque on an individual rear wheel. The result is that Dynamic Performance Control can help steer the vehicle by directing torque to either of the rear wheels. Unique the world over, this cutting-edge technology is effective whether the driver is accelerating or decelerating and significantly enhances steering precision and, as a result, the agility of the vehicle at any speed. In fast corners with abrupt steering maneuvers or with the driver suddenly releasing the gas pedal, Dynamic Performance Control serves to improve the stability of the entire vehicle, thus allowing the driver to safely enter and enjoy new dimensions of driving dynamics. Finally, on slippery or uneven surfaces, Dynamic Performance Control provides the further advantage of even safer and more stable traction.
For more information on the All-New BMW X6 Sports Activity Coupe visit Rusnak BMW located at 3832 Thousands Oaks Blvd, Thousand Oaks or call our Experienced Sales Associate at (818) 991-6340.

Journey to Evenings of Enchantment With The POPS At Descanso Gardens Supported by Rusnak Audi & Bentley Pasadena |
The Pasadena POPS returns to beautiful Descanso Gardens for a summer of what no other orchestra offers - extravaganzas unequalled for talent, entertainment value, delicious dining, an intimate setting, and free parking!
Taking place during the weekends of July 18-20, Aug. 15-17, and Sept. 5-7, Maestra Rachael Worby and The POPS takes audiences on a journey through music, poetry, dance and more.
“It's important to me to tell a story with each performance,” Worby says. “I want each performance to be a unique experience for every audience member, and music is just the first step on that journey.”
Each POPS evening at Descanso Gardens begins with easy freeway access (the Gardens are located near the intersection of the 210 and 2 freeways) and free, convenient parking. Descanso is a 160-acre botanical treasure, with the nation's largest camellia collection in a forest of mighty oaks, thousands of fragrant roses, a tranquil Japanese Garden and Tea House, singing birds, splashing streams and sensational horticultural displays.
“I've been to summer concerts elsewhere, like the Hollywood Bowl, but the POPS is by far the best value,” said Delores McAllister. “Descanso is so close, so easy to get to, and there's free parking - going to a concert is painless compared to other venues. You're relaxed when you get there, ready to enjoy the show.”
Before each POPS performance, guests may savor elegant dinners at linen-covered tables surrounding the stage prepared by Joachim Splichal's Patina Group (available by pre-order), or they may bring their own picnic basket and wine. |
